I woke up bloated every single morning. Then I stopped fighting it, and it went away. Here's three things I did. I-- yesterday I went shopping because my old shorts are now too big, so I had to buy a smaller size. I almost cried in the fitting room, not gonna lie. What did I do? Three things. Number one, lemon water. First thing in the morning, I juice these ahead of time because I am not a morning person. But it wakes up my gut, and I notice the difference on the days I skip it. Number two, more protein. If you're over fifty, your body actually needs more protein than when you were younger. Around one gram per pound of body weight. So if you're a hundred and fifty pounds, that's roughly a hundred grams a day. Number three, and this one caught me off guard, I started drinking oregano tea. I know, sounds weird. But I read something about gut health and about how when your gut is off, your body sends hunger signals that won't stop, and you're already thinking about food again. Oregano has something in it called carvacrol. It may help your gut get back in balance. And for me, the food noise got so much quieter, I stopped thinking about snacks all day. I can't promise it works the same for everyone, but it made a real difference for me. That's my three things. But the article I found explains the gut piece way better than I can, like why cravings can feel impossible to beat and what might actually be going on inside. It has ten tips from real people.
